How Your New HVAC Unit Savings Work

SRP Cool Cash™ (utility rebate)

  • Rebate size: $75, $150, or $225 per ton depending on compressor type (single-stage, multi-stage, variable-capacity). Max up to $1,125. Equipment must be listed in the AHRI Verified Directory
  • Timing: Current program accepts qualifying installs through April 30, 2026, and you must submit within 6 months of installation. (We file it for you.)
  • Paperwork: Paid-in-full invoice, AHRI reference number, model/coil/furnace numbers, etc. (We include all of this.)
  • Contractor Release: SRP allows customers to assign the rebate to the contractor so we can discount it upfront with the signed rebate release form.

Federal Tax Credits (IRS §25C)

  • Heat pumps: 30% of project cost, up to $2,000 per year. For 2025, equipment must meet ENERGY STAR® Most Efficient criteria (no regional restriction).
  • Central AC: 30% up to $600 (counts toward the $1,200 annual “equipment + envelope” cap). For 2025, split systems must be SEER2 ≥ 17.0 and EER2 ≥ 12.0; packaged ACs SEER2 ≥ 16.0 and EER2 ≥ 11.5.
  • Annual caps: Up to $3,200 total in a year ($2,000 heat-pump bucket + $1,200 envelope/AC bucket). Credits are nonrefundable and claimed for the year placed in service on IRS Form 5695. Starting in 2025, you report the Qualified Manufacturer ID (QMID) for qualifying items.
  • Stacking with SRP: Utility rebates reduce your “eligible cost” for the credit (we calculate this for you).

When It’s Smart to Replace Your Air Conditioning System

  • Rising electric bills with no clear cause
  • Frequent repairs or major part failures
  • Hot/cold rooms, weak airflow, or loud operation

Precise Air & Heatings Process As A Trusted Local Hvac Expert

Prevent costly repairs with our comprehensive maintenance plans. We offer regular inspections and tune-ups to keep your HVAC system running smoothly.

1) Right-size your system.

We run a Manual-J load calculation, measure static pressure, and review your comfort goals (noise, humidity, hot/cold rooms) so the new system is sized and ducted correctly.

2) Show Good / Better / Best options.

Side-by-side choices that fit your budget—from high-efficiency ACs to inverter heat pumps—with clear pricing, warranties, and estimated energy savings.

3) Handle the paperwork.

We prepare your SRP rebate forms and assemble a tax-credit documentation packet (AHRI certificate, model & serial numbers, paid invoice) so your accountant has what’s needed for IRS Form 5695.

4) Apply SRP rebate upfront (optional).

If eligible and with your signed release, we can apply the SRP rebate as an instant credit on your invoice.

Pre-Installation Home Check (What we verify)

  • Correct system size (Manual-J) and duct capacity (static pressure & airflow).
  • Duct condition, leakage, and supply/return balance.
  • Attic insulation, ventilation, and sealing that impact efficiency.
  • Electrical, pad/clearances, drain & float switch, line set condition.
  • Thermostat location and controls integration.
  • City permit requirements and inspection path.
  • Manufacturer registration so you get the full 10-year parts warranty.

FAQ: Local SRP Rebates & Federal Tax Credits Near You

Quality Installation

We insist on the quality installation of your cooling equipment. Studies show that half of all central air conditioners in U.S. homes never perform to their advertised capacity because they’re installed incorrectly.

Home Energy Upgrade Incentives | Governor’s Office of Resiliency

SRP pays per ton: $75 (single-stage), $150 (multi-stage), or $225 (variable-capacity). Example: a 5-ton variable-capacity unit can earn $1,125.

Yes—inverter-driven mini-splits that meet efficiency minimums qualify at $225/ton.

Qualifying systems must be installed by April 30, 2026 and the application submitted within 6 months of install. We manage both.

Yes—SRP allows a rebate assignment to the contractor with a signed form; we’ll apply it to your invoice so you don’t wait for a check.

An itemized paid invoice, AHRI reference, model/coil/furnace numbers, and (for single-stage) Manual J. We package and submit all of it.

We’ll check your electric bill and route you to SRP Cool Cash or the applicable APS program.

Up to 30% of project cost, capped at $2,000 per year for qualifying air-source heat pumps (2025 equipment must be ENERGY STAR Most Efficient).

Up to 30% of cost, capped at $600.

Yes—but utility rebates are subtracted from your qualifying cost before calculating the tax credit. We’ll show the adjusted amounts on your paperwork.

For central AC and heat pumps, a home used as a residence (including a second home) can qualify. Credits are nonrefundable and subject to annual limits.

IRS Form 5695 (Part II) for the Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit. Starting in 2025, the return also includes the Qualified Manufacturer ID (QMID) for each qualifying item.

Sometimes. If you do, certain electrical upgrades (200A and NEC-compliant) may qualify for up to $600 within the $1,200 annual cap.

New construction and non-habitable spaces (e.g., garages) are not eligible for SRP Cool Cash

Variable-capacity inverter heat pumps typically deliver top comfort and often unlock the $2,000federal cap plus $225/ton SRP rebate (when efficiency criteria are met).

We’ll price both options and apply for the utility program you’re eligible for; you’ll still receive Form 5695 documentation for federal credits.
